8" x 10" original watercolour on 74# Yupo synthetic paper
I love how, when fooling around on Yupo paper, you can get something quite unexpected than originally intended. It has a mind and flow of its own that will not allow me, with my still limited experience with it, to be fussy or precise. With this painting I had actually set out to paint poppies, thinking that my mother would enjoy them because, to her many family and friends, her nickname is "Poppy". What a surprise when the original idea morphed into a more familiar ocean scene! I love how working on Yupo can often take you places you didn't know you were going!
