This painting was done in a series of abstracts, each using the same colour palette but taking one of those colours as its dominant colour and, in this case, yellow. The name Calibration relates to the process of finding a relationship between two quantities that are unknown. With the yellow known, my decisions then were for how the remaining palette colours would relate to that yellow, and this painting is what resulted.
