This plein air sketch is of a pathway at Bowen Park in Nanaimo. I painted it between periods of brilliant sun and violent downpours of rain which, in the end, forced me under the eaves of the nearby picnic shelter for this view of the path instead of the river, where it was too exposed to the flip-flopping weather to continue
