Somenos Lake

This small painting is the view of Somenos Lake from the dock at the end of Drinkwater Road in the Cowichan Valley. The lake is part of the Somenos Marsh Conservation Area and an important feeding and resting area for thousands of migrating birds following the Pacific Flyway, between Alaska and South America. In this painting, I was playing with a colourful underpainting technique, somewhat new for me, but do plan to do more.
