8" x 10" watercolour on 140# Arches cold-pressed paper (SOLD)
The beautiful Chemainus River outflows into the Salish Sea on the east coast of Vancouver Island. This lower stretch is located between the communities of Crofton and Chemainus and runs through the Halalt First Nation territory. The view is from above the estuary, looking downstream from below the Chemainus River Bridge. At this point the river flows through agricultural lands but prior has traversed through deeply incised canyons and rugged forest lands on its journey to the ocean.
