Going out with a hiking group is a great way to explore local forest areas and see the ‘lay of the land’. This painting is of the view, looking west, from the high bluffs above Cowichan Lake. The outlook is accessed by rough forestry trails that start at the adjacent but much smaller Mesachie and Bear lakes.
