If you live on the coast, and especially among the Gulf Islands, you’ll be familiar with the many boaters and kayakers exploring shorelines and bays. This painting captures a kayaker, who stretched out the paddling day into the fall of night and sunset; it is one in a series of wet-in-wet watercolour demonstrations I did as part of a watercolour class I gave to a local artists group.
