This painting is a change from my more usual landscape painting. I love the beauty of horses but I’m not a ‘real’ horseperson, whereas, two of my sisters certainly are. It’s through their encouragement that I somewhat playfully took on the subject. Living in the Cowichan Valley, there are many who have a passion for keeping horses, and rightly so; it's a beautiful valley with abundant pastureland.
