18" x 18" watercolour on 300# Arches paper (SOLD)
This painting, and its companion of the same name and motif, is the result of a request to paint two watercolours of white-barked trees, within a particular colour palette and size. The images are inspired by the groves of such trees seen en route to Cowichan Lake, which I’ve taken license to suggest in the background; in this locale, they are likely white-barked alder but could be birch or aspen, also having white bark and depending on the experience and preference of different viewers. I thoroughly enjoyed painting these trees!
