I was walking with a friend, exploring the trails in the area of the Somenos Garry Oak Reserve in North Cowichan, on Vancouver Island. It was early spring, before the trees leafed-out, and we left the reserve by way of Townend Road, a peaceful, low-traffic road—almost more of a path than a roadway and begging to be a painting!
