Tonquin Beach is in Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island. There has long been a trail that takes you down to its lovely sandy cove but, in more recent years, it was extended. It now leads beyond the cove into the forest to a high point, where you can look back from a great viewing platform to see the curve of Tonquin Beach and offshore to the intersection of sea and sky.
