Reminiscence

I called this painting "Reminiscence" because the resouce photos I used were from a number of square-format pictures I'd taken in 1971. The location is Little Beach in Ucluelet, British Columbia. About 18 years later, after I took my photos, I had a home directly above this beach, with a long view out over the ocean. With a telescope, and by then with young sons, we could watch migrating Grey whales offshore. I certainly miss that view and, living now in the Cowichan Valley, I only periodically get to Ucluelet and this little beach.
