12" x 12" acrylic on canvas
This is a variation of another painting I’ve done, much larger, about a story I was told of friends, who had paddled out into Barkley Sound and encountered a rogue cresting wave in an otherwise calm ocean. They were fortunate to paddle on through it, getting thoroughly wet and pounded but thankfully remained upright. They count their blessings and of course relish being able to tell the story, given such a frightening encounter with the whims of an unpredictable ocean.
