10 x 8 watercolour on 140# Arches hot-pressed paper
Purple Martins are a recovering species in the Cowichan Valley, thanks to many volunteers and the nesting boxes they’ve installed in various locations. You can view them in Ladysmith Harbour and Cowichan Bay, out over the water, feeding on flying insects and resting on the industrial detritus of old pilings and rusty cables, so common to a busy waterfront.
