10" x 8" watercolour on 74# Yupo synthetic paper
I sketched this view while I was sitting on a rocky beach just off the Wild Pacific Trail in Ucluelet. That day, I’d painted a plein air watercolour, looking offshore into the waves. But I’d also sketched another view, looking behind me, into the dense forest. I thought it was quite tapestry-like. So when I got home I decided to develop the forest view into a painting too, and this watercolour was the result.
