This painting has its roots in a plein air day I had a while back with a few painter friends, at Bright Angel Park in the Cowichan Valley. That day, we had a lot of great conversations (all about art of course!) but I came home with only a tiny sketch. It was some time before I finally got back to it and developed my sketch into this rather loose and wild painting. I say ‘wild’ because it was not at all the colourful fall day I portrayed here but a wet, green, and rainy day. Yes, artists do take lots of artistic license!
