14" x 11" watercolour on 74# synthetic Yupo paper
This watercolour came out of a plein-air day painting with some artist friends. We sat out in a garden, flush in its summer bloom. I painted roses, not my usual landscape motif, but they situated me within the cool shade of a fragrant arbor. It was a pleasure. I worked on this slippery synthetic paper to keep me loose and free and was happily overtaken by the heavy scent of climbing roses.
