9.25" x 14" original watercolour on Arches cold-pressed paper
I started this painting with a more serious style in mind. Early on, when painting the sky, I discovered a slight blemish in the paper that couldn't be lifted out and spoiled the effect I was originally after. But rather than abandon the painting altogether (also known as 'tearing it up'), I changed my attitude and decided to just play with it and have some fun to see what resulted. In the end, I decided I rather liked it. My lesson? Patience. And don't be in a hurry to throw away what seems at first to be 'going wrong'! A good lesson for life too, don't you think?
