11" x 14" acrylic on canvas panel
I’ve called this painting, “The Golden Hour”. On the west coast of Vancouver Island, when the sun is setting, it seems almost magical, the light fading quickly into twilight and then dark. There’s another ‘golden hour’ when the sun rises again, also with a quickly changing light but with a cooler gold than the warm gold of evening. Lots of artistic license taken, of course, but that’s what makes painting enjoyable and often surprising, even to me while painting it!
