8" x 10" watercolour on 140# Arches cold-pressed paper
This painting is another in a series exploring the power and beauty of the ocean as it encounters resisting forces of the rocky coast. Having lived near the ocean in Ucluelet, I appreciate, respect and am continually awed by its power and its beauty. It is truly ‘sublime’—a word that means, in its earliest usage, not just spectacular and awesome beauty but also having elements of fear or even horror in the degrees of high emotion that true wilderness can stir.
