8" x 10" original watercolour on 140# Arches cold-pressed paper (SOLD)
Jordan River Beach is a popular location for winter surfing on Vancouver Island. This view is looking out across the Strait of Juan de Fuca, toward the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. Out of view, to the left of this image, there's a rustic hut that local surfers built in the 1970s as a place to get out of the weather and warm-up. While the hut itself could have been a painting, I liked the weathered fence and dappled sunlight as the subject for this painting.
