8" x 10" watercolour on 140# Arches cold-pressed paper
This painting is not of a particular lake but represents the many Vancouver Island lakes with which I have personal affiliation or history—Great Central, Sproat, Kennedy and Cowichan have all been meaningful in my life; they are lakes I’ve lived beside, hiked around, or learned to swim in and now influence my painting subjects. Love them as we do, lakes are an increasingly precious water resource for sustaining our lives, far beyond their aesthetic value acknowledged through art or our delight for a recreational escape.
