A Long Time Alone, West Coast Cove

18 x 24 acrylic painting on canvas

I like that a painting and its name can be interpreted in different ways, depending on what you, the viewer, brings to it. Consider that this west coast cove will have existed for a long time geologically and, as with any isolated cove, you could be there physically a long time alone, taking in its solitude. Or... you could reflect on your own long life and its path; what it means is up to you. I love that a viewer is a partner in a painting because, ideally, there’s enough ‘room’ there that something of another person's journey also can be found within it.
