Dreamland Cowichan

7" x 10" watercolour on on 140# Lanaquarelle paper

Taking a risk, I intentionally blurred this painting of an imagined, Cowichan Valley-inspired pastureland. After flooding it with warm water, the image became rather ethereal-looking, I thought. It’s not exactly what I’d planned, but that was the point—to experiment, to see what happens, to discover new results! I must confess it’s quite uplifting to experiment, painting without expectation; it always improves my mood. Oh right! That’s called fun!
